Restoration of Chan Heung's Residence
In March 2006, Grandmaster Doc-Fai Wong was in China with the Keeper Chan Sun Chiu and his wife; He heard that they wanted to rebuild their great-grandfather's house, the formal residence of Chan Heung, the founder of choy li fut kung fu. However, that required a lot of money to accomplish, so Grandmaster Wong told them go ahead and get started and he would take care of the money part. In less than four weeks, Grandmaster Wong raised all the money from his Plum Blossom International Federation. He went back to Xinhui, China on April 5, 2006 and presented all the cash in one hundred dollar bills a total $10,000 to the Keeper and his wife. Sifu Poon Shun Sui from Guangzhou were the witnesses of this event.
On June 3rd, 2006, Grandmaster Doc-Fai Wong took a team of his staff and went back to the choy li fut's hometown to help the Keeper Chan Sun Chiu to buy displayed glass cabinets, furniture and to decorate the founder's renovated house. He was setting up new road signs in the village for directing visitors on how to get to the house. Grandmaster Wong also helped to arrange the reservations at the restaurant for the banquet and renting the auditorium for a kung fu performance on August 3rd for the founder's bicentennial birthday celebration and the grand opening of the renovated house of the founder.
